HOW DO WE SPEND THE MONEY THAT COMES IN EACH SUNDAY?
Thought we'd let you know how we're planning to spend the money God gives us to be stewards over at THE WELL as more and more people make this church their 'church home' and begin supporting it generously with their tithes and offerings.

We're planning to split every dollar that comes in FOUR WAYS.
70% will go to our GENERAL FUND. This fund will be used to pay for staff salaries, facilities, day to day operating expenses (cell phones, internet, printing, meetings, training, gear purchases, etc...) and the like.
10% will go to SOCIAL JUSTICE work in our immediate sphere of influence, particularly Burlington and Hamilton. This fund will support single mothers, disenfranchised families and worthwhile outreach programs and ministries that practically help 'the poor' in our area with day to day needs.
10% will go to CHURCH PLANTING. This means that we will be constantly working to find, asses, train, equip, send and support qualified men who are called of God to plant Churches. Our specific interest will be in seeing churches planted in Canadian cities. If you, or someone you know is interested in church planting with THE WELL, please drop us a line.
10% will go to MISSIONS & CULTURE work. This means that we will spend money doing 'things' in our Western GTA cultural context that connect us, and our people, with the people of our culture. This may include things like conferences or seminars, concerts or film screenings, pub nights or triathlons; whatever people in our culture like to do, we're going to find ways to do it with them.
On the 'Missions' side of things we're going to spend money to support Missionaries.
This may be as simple as helping to send a Missionary to a training seminar they need to complete before heading overseas, or as complex as entering into a long-term relationship with a family who is living overseas while proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus.
HERE'S THE VISION WE HOPE YOU'LL CATCH
This year (2010) we expect THE WELL to generate between$60,000-$100,000 in revenue. That means that (at $100,000 in revenue) we'll have $70,000 to run the church on, $10,000 to spend on Social Justice, $10,000 to spend on Church Planting and $10,000 to spend engaging culture.
Push that number forward by five years of growth (say we have 500 people by then in regular attendance) that should put us at about $600,000 in revenue (based on typical church attendance/income projections) which would mean $420,000 to run the church on, $60,000 to spend on Social Justice, $60,000 to spend on Church Planting and $60,000 to spend engaging culture.
You can see how, as THE WELL grows, those number get very exciting in terms of how we can leverage what God gives us (as stewards) to make a significant practical impact in our culture for Jesus' fame.
